What are some products similar to Skype and MagicJack?

I've been reading all about the MagicJack and I myself am a Skype user well my grandmother lives in Venezuela and it's always a hle to buy phone cards and pay for the international calls. I was looking to buy one of the phones offered by Skype but they require internet access my grandmother owns a computer but i think buying her something like these products would just make it much more complicated for her. Is there any service out there that provides a local phone number that I can call and my grandmother can use to call me (new york). I don't mind having to pay a monthly fee or something.
