Why is West Australia so much better than South Australia in the AFL?

I think it has something to do with the fact that they don't have daylight saving in the west. Therefore the Sandgropers can sleep in longer in the mornings --- thus storing up extra energy for use when running around on the oval. It makes a big difference.
